DAY 22 (Wed July 11th) Custer, SD to Rapid City, SD:  70 miles. Top speed 49 mph. Left in the AM feeling sick again, we had some climbs out of town to get to the Custer State Park, Needles Highway. Once I got there, the view helped settle my stomach. Breathtaking views. Then we hit some downward spiral roads leading to a 3.3 mile steep 10% grade climb to Mt Rushmore. After sightseeing, we took that road at high speed down to picnic, then an easy 20 miles to end the day. We saw a lot today...the most postcard shots for one day.
