DAY 21 (Tuesday July 10th) Lead, SD to Custer, SD:  64 miles. Top speed 51 mph. Today was a day of rolling hills. I felt much better. Got a good sleep Monday night, felt good at all the meals...ready to go. Of note today was a 10 mile section on a crushed gravel road. It caused a lot of anxiety from many riders. I kind of liked it. I rode the first half, including the gravel portion, with Theo and Malcolm (from Australia). The gravel ended at Picnic, then I was off with Theo to ride a set of small rolling hills that we attacked with speed, up and down. The ride ended with a slow 10 mile climb up to Crazy Horse, which was an impressive sight. All the heads on Mt.Rushmore, fit into the size of the Indian head on Crazy Horse. Wednesday is Steve Higgs last ride (Steve is on STAFF, and marks out the rides and cue sheets every other day - staff rides each, every other day - Steve did Teton two times with us - a great guy). His tour is done on Thursday, so before his last ride, we TP'd his bike overnight. Pictures:(1) Theo's brothers, (2-4) views, (5-6) the gravel road, along with an example of a cattle guard - crossed many of those, (7-9) views, including Crazy Horse, (10-11) TPing Steve's bike, (12) Steve admires the work in the morning
